Passive Window Systems for Luxury Construction

"Canvas and pigments lie in wait, stone, wood, and metal are ready for sculpture, random noise is latent for symphonies, sites are gravid for cities, institutions lie in the wings ready to solve our most intractable problems, parables of moving power remain unformulated and yet, the world is finally unknowable.”

Passive Ultra+ Windows and Doors

SW14 Aluclad Passive windows represent a unique Nordic design of high energy efficient windows. They are certified as Passive House Components by the Passive House Institute in Germany.

Passive Ultra+ Windows and DoorsWindow profiles are protected by International Registration of Industrial Designs no DM/083922.

SW14 Aluclad Passive Windows have:

  • Specific design suitable for Nordic countries. Its three gaskets ensure that profile system is highly insulated and condensation risks between frame and casement are minimized

  • 50 mm triple glazing with 2 low-E coatings (Planitherm Ultra N or Planitherm ONE) and  warm edge spacer (SGG Swisspacer Ultimate) gives excellent insulation and comfort

  • Sun protection coatings can be used if needed (e.g. SKN174)

  • Aluminum profile system on exterior side improves the endurance of wooden window

  • Tempered dual or triple glazing greatly reduces the possibility of this source of breach

  • Espagnolette with locking points around the casement secures the window while closed

As a rule the standard size window 1.23 m x 1.48 m must achieve Uw = 0.80 W/m²K using  of glazing Ug = 0.70 W/m²K.

Considering the climate in many parts of the US, it is very important to use glazing with better insulation than 0.70W/m²K. Chart below illustrates SW14 Aluclad Passive Window's thermal transmittance values with different glazing systems:
